N.A.S.A x Steve Aoki

Working on the new site but it would just be wrong to hold back on this absolute gem of a track. Not usually the biggest fan of Steve Aoki's remix work but this one is certainly making me think twice it absolutely bangs.

N.A.S.A Ft. Kanye West, Santagold & Lykke Li - Gifted (Steve Aoki Remix) (Media Fire)

ONE IN A MILLION BILLION MILLION

I don't know why but Data's Rapture just never did it for me, too pessimistic maybe. Enter ONE IN A MILLION! With both a pop influenced original track, an epic club version and a couple of excellent remixes Data's new EP is just what I was waiting for. Check below for the club version of the track and a great remix by beat extraordinaire and talented DJ Drixxxe.

No Witty Title For Kid Legit. Please Help.

K this guy makes me suddenly feel very restless. Hes 21 years old (same as me) but that is where the similarities stop. He runs a clothing line called Brinada for starters but he also runs around Montreal DJing with the likes of LAZRtag and has also spun alongside Steve Aoki. He has that kind of Hyphy Electro sound that has been developing nicely the last couple years or so. Hopefully he can keep it going. Maybe this is part of the A-Trak generation many of us have been hoping for. Below is a remix of Love Thy Brother..whommm I cant find anything about. As usual.

Love Thy Brother - Get Your Back Up (Kid Legit Remix) (Media Fire)

PS You can pick up his full ep (2 originals & 4 remixes here)

Life In LA Is So Insane

I gotta say when I look around, shit ain't bad. I live on the beach in Santa Barbara,CA around some of the most beautiful girls and not a care in the world..besides school...sometimes. One of the biggest perks is that I am just out of shouting range of LA. Don't get me wrong I've had some amazing times there stumbling around the strip and hitting up various versions of the Hard festivals thrown downtown. Now all you wonderful regulars know that I almost never post hip hop here at Thorns & Arrows but that ever so trendy team known as Chester French has produced a track with Pharrell that sums up how crazy the girls in LA truly are. There is nothing better/worse than a girl who has everything but doesn't seem to know it. See if all of you who reside in the Golden State agree. Cheers.

Chester French - Life In LA (Ft. Pharrell & Jermaine Dupri)
Chester French - No Parents Allowed (Ft. Kardinall Offishall & N.O.R.E)

PS Don't worry you wont see this turning into White Folks Get Crunk well...EVER

80kidz Own My Block

I have to admit, it took me a good bit to warm up to these Japanese fellows. Sometimes I judge a troop way too much off just a name, discounting these guys a little much just based on the fact that they have "80" and that not so clever "z" at the end... Holy hell was I wrong. Their new album, "This Is My Shit" is equally full of great synths, melodies and banging sounds. Making it exactly what I love. Below are a couple of my favorite tracks and if you like them be sure to grab the whole thing. I hope they pick up a ticket it to LA really really soon. The album is kind of a cross between Shinichi Osawa and MSTRKRFT's best moments.

PS Their album art is second to none and they have a pretty rad shirt available on their myspace so be sure to check it out.

80kidz - Go Mynci
80kidz - She (Ft. Autokratz)
80kidz - TGV
