So yesterday my wishes were fulfilled when I was able to get my greedy hands on a copy of Fist Of God, the new album from MSTRKRFT. I like that JFK and Al-P really haven't changed their sound in response to passing trends, although its not necessarily as refreshing as some would hope there are still some great tracks that will really bring some more people into this music scene. Below are a couple of my favorites.
I was starting to lose my mind with anticipation for the new MSTRKRFT album, to me their remixes had always outshined their original work but from what I have heard so far this is sure to be the album of the year so far.... I like the new direction they are taking with not only vocals, but with some variations in their production stye, use of melody and influence from their old punk days along with old Chicago & Detroit house. Album hits the streets 3/17/09... hope i dont have to wait that long!!
Sometimes a week goes by and so much happens it feels like a year. But here I am, one super bowl weekend, five trashed days/nights and one seizure later finally getting around to do a bit of posting. Hope you all have had a great week, I'm guessing all of my foreign friends didn't catch much of the "big game" but that's just fine I don't remember much of it myself! It has been an amazing time though and I love having the opportunity to share and enjoy so much great new music with you all. Hope this post provides some of that same happiness.
